Our doors
FD30
In compliance with UK building regulations, our selection of FD30 fire doors provides excellent quality, peace of mind and style all while enhancing the safety of buildings, offices and public spaces. FD30 doors are tested against 30 minutes of fire, giving extra protection when you need it most.
FD30s
An FD30s fire door resists fire and stops the spread of cold smoke for up to 30 minutes. These fire doors have been expertly engineered with a solid core and are often fitted with intumescent strips around the edges that expand when exposed to heat, sealing off the gap between the door and the frame.
FD60
FD60-rated doors provide an extra line of defence against a fire and a higher level of protection in high-risk environments, or properties containing high-value goods, delaying the spread of fire. FD60 fire doors may be essential to provide enough time for a complete evacuation.
FD60s
FD60s-rated fire doors play an integral role in fire compartmentation and are subjected to rigorous testing to ensure they offer a one-hour protection rating against smoke and fire. With heavy-duty construction and advanced fire-resistant properties, FD60s fire doors provide full peace of mind in the event of a fire.
Why are fire doors important?
Every person who uses or occupies a building has the right to expect that if a fire occurs, they will be safe and protected. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case, and once a fire is ignited, a fire can become uncontrollable in an incredibly short time, which then relies on the fire door to contain the spread of smoke and flames to limit potential damage. Fire doors are important as they provide an additional layer of protection and offer valuable time for evacuation and emergency response.
Fire doors also play an important role in the fire safety of workplaces, public buildings, residential settings and factories, to name a few, and alongside fire alarm systems and fire extinguishers, fire doors are fundamental elements in a property’s fire safety measures, forming an essential component of a building’s passive fire protection system.
In everyday use, a fire door functions similarly to a standard door. However, due to the unpredictable nature of fire incidents, the fire door is required to fulfil its core objective of safeguarding lives and offering protection to both the immediate structure, the people within and the adjacent buildings.
